This is part of my vintage/retro clothing that I will be making. It’s vintage-retro because it is a brand new article of clothing using a vintage pattern. This is a 1969 Simplicity Pattern.
This tunic is wonderfully versatile. It can be made of almost any type of mid to lightweight material. It has two bust darts in the front and two darts down the back and on the shoulders in the back for shaping and is fully lined. It zips up the back as well with a snapped strap in the back, which eventually will have a button detail if I ever finish the one I made for myself. It can be paired with a skirt, slack or jeans and be worn by itself or over a snug sweater or tee-shirt
This particular tunic is made of champagne satin with a white dragon embroidered on the front. It is lined with white cotton muslin for comfort in the summer. The zipper is gold metal toothed (i had it in my stash, I would make yours with more comfortable plastic one). The snap on the back strap is hand sewn.
